By creating a plan of action, you’re going to be so freakin’ prepared that you will create opportunity, making you one lucky duck and/or human. If you put in the work, you’ll make it happen. Writing is not a piece of cake, but it is sustenance for our souls.
ABOUT ME
Hi there! My name is Sam, and I started Any Possibility to build a community of writers who act with passion and purpose. I hope you become a part of it.
After college, I moved to LA to be in the hub of all things entertainment, but it was hard navigating the transition because I didn’t have all the information I needed about how to get a foot in the door, insight into all the different facets of the industry, and how to channel the learning and education I did have into “real world” application. Through blind trial and error, I ended up in the Hollywood assistant grind, which was a completely valuable and completely exhausting experience. Part of this site is dedicated to exploring the Hollywood assistant experience and shining a light on that path for emerging writers.
Being an assistant helped me gain access to industry insight from the ground up and grow a great network of people, many of whom wrote on the side. Networking also made it possible for me to transition into working as a script reader and analyst, working for high-profile contests and a major studio. After reading hundreds of scripts a year, I’ve become a better writer and a better creative.

I think the more information you have from the get-go heightens your chances of making well-informed decisions. It’s like the phrase – instead of working harder, work smarter – because you can be working incredibly hard but still banging your head into a wall for lack of progress.
